PVLP Radio is my way of representing underground artists (mostly, but not exclusively, local to my area for the time being), uninfluenced by algorithms and unencumbered by ads or corporate interest.
There's so much great stuff out there, and I really do love how plentiful and accessible it is, but I also think a passive listening experience is a necessary counterpart to the current status quo, and not currently as easy to come by.
Independent Music - I think a big green play button that instantly allows you to hear something that someone made because of their own artistic need could be a nice thing to have available among all of the big ol' streaming platforms we have, and a nice supplement to, say, the DIY tape trade in much the same way as broadcast radio co-existing with physical albums.
Independent Internet - I like weird, oddball projects like this and I miss how many odd, garishly designed corners of the Internet dedicated to some random person's passion project I used to stumble across. This is just my little weirdo corner of the web.
Independent Music & Independent Internet - In the earlier days of online music streaming, there were a few interesting projects. It looks like that's all boiled down to Spotify and similar services. Of course, this isn't really comparable to any of those services, nor is it indended to be. But it is a different thing outside of that world and on its own, and I want see where it goes.
For now, if you happen to find this somehow and want to add your music to the rotation (or saw that you're already here and want to be removed), feel free to send me an email!
